Photo of the Month – October – Autumn Nuthatch
Have decided to start posting a ‘Photo of the Month’. In the first week of each month I’ll pick out a favourite image that I have taken during the preceding month.
So to kick things off here is the photo for October.

European Nuthatch in Autumn. Canon 1D Mark IV with the 500 mm f/4 L IS + 1.4x TC. ISO 400. 1/500 sec @ f/11.
The European Nuthatch, a pretty common bird but one of my favourites. I never get sick of watching these guys go about their busy. They just never seem to stop moving, always on the go. Even though common not the easiest to photograph due to their speed and ‘fidgety’ nature.
Nice autumn feel to this one with the colourful background and for once he/she paused long enough for me to acquire focus.
