Have just added a Fly Fishing Portfolio to my website and also uploaded 71 new fly fishing images to the New Zealand Fly Fishing Stock Gallery.
Have been processing some waterfall images today but I’m not sure about my processing.

McLean River Waterfall, Catlins, New Zealand. Canon 5D with a 17-40 mm f/4L @ 17 mm. ISO 100. 3 exposures combined in Photomatrix Fusion @ f/11. Polariser. Click the image for a larger view.
While it was taken on an overcast day the contrast in the scene was to great for the sensor so I decided to bracket the exposures. Normally I’d hand blend the exposures but at the moment I don’t have access to Photoshop and was interested to see what sort of a job Photomatrix Fusion would do with this type of scene.
Does it look natural to you? Would be great to get your opinion.

I’m in the process of adding some ‘portfolios’ to my website at the moment. Will be a nice easy way for people to view some of my favourite images, instead of having to wade through my stock galleries. Should also be good for new and potential clients wanting to get a quick overview of my work.
So far I have added a Birds Portfolio, featuring bird images from around the world and also a Published Works Portfolio, showcasing how some of my images have been used by clients.
Over the next week or so I’ll be adding Mammals, Landscapes and Fly Fishing.

Have been busy processing images, mainly birds and muskoxen, which I took last month and have uploaded them to my website. The bird images are from a local wetland and most are new species for me, although common over here.
You can check them out in the Latest Image Gallery on my website or just click the species name below.
Here are a some of my favourites, remember to click on any image to see a larger, sharper version.

Had a request late last week for some red deer images; large antlered red stags actually. It was from a America outdoors magazine, their photo editor had visited my website and seen some of my red stag images there and was wondering if I had any with larger antlers.
I did but not a lot bigger than what was on my website. After questioning her on just how big did they want the antlers I realised that she had not seen all of my red stag images that were on my website.
The problem?? My image key-wording had been lost on upload to my website and when the photo editor had searched my site for red deer or red stags not all of my images on my website had been found. Not good
.

Red Deer Stag (Cervus elaphus)
To make make matters worse it was not just the red deer images missing this vital metadata, some other images as well. So I have been working on updating all the images on my website which have missing keywords and captions. As well as solving the issue of why I was losing my metadata on upload so that it doesn’t happen in the future.

Roaring Red Deer Stag (Cervus elaphus)
I decided that while I was in the process of fixing the metadata on the red stag images that I might as well add some news ones at the same time. So about 50 new red stag images have been added.
They can been seen in either the European Wildlife Gallery or the New Zealand Mammals Gallery.
A couple of changes have been made to the galleries as well. I have split up the New Zealand Wildlife Gallery into NZ Birds and NZ Mammals and have added my first Gallery Collection (NZ Wildlife) with some more planned in the near future.
I’m hoping that these changes will help with navigation of my website.

Roaring Red Deer Stag (Cervus elaphus)
Well I’m hoping that I be able to get out for a day at one of my hides or maybe the dippers again before the end of the week. Will post the results here if I get anything worthwhile.
